Why I Chose This Work
I’ve devoted my life to guiding families toward financial peace of mind. My work centers on bringing clarity to uncertainty and helping people make confident decisions about their future. I believe peace of mind is built by organizing the many moving pieces of your financial life. Like a chessboard, every decision affects another — income, taxes, investments, protection, and legacy.
Over the years, I’ve seen how unplanned healthcare events in later life can quietly unravel even the strongest financial plans. A late-life health crisis or extended long-term care need can erode decades of disciplined saving — sometimes leaving a surviving spouse financially vulnerable. That’s why I integrate retirement income strategy, tax-efficient investment management, long-term care planning, and legacy coordination into one cohesive plan designed to protect both your wealth and the people you love.
My Background
Growing up in the quiet, rugged beauty of Bryce Canyon, Utah, I learned early the values of hard work, integrity, and community — principles that guide me to this day. As a third-generation military veteran, with my grandfather serving in Korea, my father in Vietnam, and my own service in the Army National Guard, I carry a deep respect for duty, sacrifice, and leadership.
I began my career as a commercial lender and private banker, helping individuals and business owners navigate financial challenges and seize opportunities. That decade gave me a deep understanding of personal and business finance, and of the importance of working with a team of professionals — accountants, attorneys, and advisors — to achieve clients’ goals.
Motivated by a passion for local growth, I became the managing partner of the Idaho Expansion Group, an angel investment firm dedicated to empowering small businesses. Over a decade, our disciplined, long-term investment approach delivered returns of over 700%, demonstrated the power of strategy, patience, and sound risk management.
From 2017 to 2025, I served as managing partner of a large financial planning firm, leading a team of professionals and helping hundreds of families design retirement income strategies, coordinate estate plans, and prepare for long-term financial transitions. In 2025, I chose to sell my ownership stake to focus more intentionally on serving select families with complex planning needs — guiding them with the depth, attention, and fiduciary care they deserve.
Community Leadership & Service
Civic engagement has always been central to my life. I've served 16 years on the Ammon City Council, held the role of President of the Idaho Estate Planning Council, and dedicated a decade to the East Idaho Technical College Scholarship Foundation Board, now the College of Eastern Idaho. I've also contributed as a board member for the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce.
I believe deeply that a community is only as strong as the collective involvement of its residents, and I strive to lead by example, both professionally and personally.
Outside the Office
When I’m not working with clients or serving the community, you’ll likely find me fishing, enjoying the outdoors with my family, cheering on the Idaho Spud Kings, or sharing a good laugh with friends. I’m a people-person at heart, known for my sense of humor, loyalty, and genuine care for others.
